Plaque placed in memory of the explosion of the powder magazine, caused by lightning and which occurred on 12 July 1812, following which twenty-one soldiers of the Royal Corsican Garrison and a local girl lost their lives, during the period of French occupation (1808-1814).
The monument, with its neoclassical features, consists of an upper section featuring a tympanum reminiscent of the classic Napoleonic tricorne hat, on which the first inscription of the text appears.
This element surmounts a skull and crossbones and the date, while the final section of the marble document recounts in verse the tragic death of the two Corsican officers, Bonavita and Emanuel.

commosso il Real Corso Reggimento gl’erge in memoria questo Monumento».
