"Discover Scilla" is a route featuring a network of interactive information panels that winds through the three ancient districts making up Scilla’s historic center. The trail guides visitors on a journey to discover the town's tangible and intangible heritage, weaving together history, culture, literature, and memory into a unified narrative of the community's identity and the founding myths of one of the Mediterranean's oldest, most evocative, and most celebrated locations.

The geographer Strabo, in his work *Geography* (23 A.D.), reports that as early as 493 B.C. Scilla was fortified by Anaxilas, tyrant of Rhegium, who also established a naval station there. He thus provides one of the oldest and most valuable topographical and historical descriptions of the site, attesting to the permanent human presence and the existence of defensive structures; presenting Scilla, for the first time, as a real and inhabited place, home to sailors and fortified works, no longer merely a geographical location associated with myth.
